Rubber Cement Art by Owen PraterOwen Prater

Welcome to the rubber cement heaven! A few years ago I had to do a diary type thing. Every page in a book had to be filled with different views of the same object. I chose the closest item to me on the table: A bottle of Ross Rubber Cement.

I was looking through my old stuff and saw this diary. Since it was so laughably bad, I decided it would fit right in at pbbt.com. (-:

I only digitized the first ten pages and my favorite drawings from the rest of the book. If there is demand for it, I'll digitize the other 15 pages or so. (There are 51 pages total.) My style of art changed significantly by the end of the book. I managed to make my art a little more "sophisticated" and discovered some awfully odd ways of drawing rubber cement. After browsing this book you will probably see why I almost failed art (and why the teacher made sobbing noises when he graded the diary.) Just so you know, I got a decent grade overall in the class.

When digitizing the pages I worked more on making the file size reasonable for quick downloads then maintaining 100% color accuracy (my being slightly color blind doesn't help either.) If you would like to publish or reprint any of these images I'll be happy to send you a higher quality version of any of the drawings. Throughout this directory I have hidden little surprises. Be on the lookout for desktop pictures, a screensaver, and other cool stuff.

Update (11/8/99): I added 13 more of my favorite pages as dictated by popular demand. I also added some more backgrounds and spruced up a few bad scans. Enjoy! (Update 2/17/00: Check out this fan art that Rubber Cement connoisseur Wally drew.)

Please feel free to email me with any questions or comments you might have (and let me know if you like this). Enjoy!
