Owen founded pbbt.com in late 1998 for the purpose of providing the best humor available. In the beginning pbbt.com consisted solely of jokes and humor. Nothing else. Now this site has moved on to include more then just the best humor available on the Internet. Not only is there interactive web humor, downloadable humor, a mailing list, and an index of Internet sites; there are WebLibs (aka MadLibs), web games, postcards, and more being added almost daily!

Who is Owen?

Hello! My name is Owen, but you already knew that. I grew up in sunny San Diego, California. I started using computers in kindergarten, but all I remember of that great period of ancient history that is the Apple II games. I got interested in Macintoshes in 4th grade when the school started a Mac computer lab. Ever since then I've been a so-called "Mac Addict." I also have a PC (which attempts to run Linux and Windows), and I am proficient on both platforms - whatever that means. I enjoy swimming, backpacking, rock climbing, and traveling the world around. I'm studying the specifics of Java and C++ as am well versed in Perl scripting and CGI programing for the Internet. There is not much else to say about me, except that I'm really cool and am addicted to those weird smiley-face things. (o:

Right now I'm attending University of California at Irvine majoring in Information and Computer Science probably with a minor in Graphic Arts. As they say: "It's all good." :-)

Professional Web Design

I first got into the Internet around... well, I don't even remember what year it was. I just know it was a really long time ago. (-: I started with Mosaic and then moved on to Netscape 1.0. That was the "golden age" of the Internet, IMHO. A 14.4 modem was more then fast enough, no ads, one search engine that I knew of (Lycos), and simple, fast, and clean page layouts. Nowadays, a more complex and visually attractive layout is demanded by today's more sophisticated visitors. With all the undocumented features and bugs in the 4.0 and 5.0 browsers it is becoming a greater and greater challenge to make a page that looks good, works on the new and old browsers alike, and loads fast. How is all this done? Let me tell you it's not easy.

I started a company, OP Design, to design pages for individuals and companies. Need a single web page or even a whole corporate website designed? No matter how big the project, I'm ready to attack it. I'm very flexible with rates and time schedules. Send me an e-mail and we can work out exactly what you want and how you want it.

A couple of example sites I have designed include:

  • OP Design. Get more information about my design services. In fact, this should be your first step to learn more about OP Design. :-)
  • Pbbt.com. I'm sure you've seen it before, but why don't you check it out again. (-: Notice how compact the graphics are... the average page is smaller than 10K making for quick downloads without sacrificing visual quality. (Also check out my rubber cement pages for a different style and the Humor Directory.
  • eHumorCentral.com. Jokes, jokes, and only jokes. The same jokes that are available at PBBT.COM but presented in a different form. If you just want to grab a quick joke, this site is for you!
Advertise on PBBT.COM

Advertising is a great way to bring traffic to your site. Visitors to pbbt.com are multi-national, ready for an entertaining website, and can get a good joke. Visit the advertising page for more details and demographic information.

I also run a small "exclusive" link exchange with a 3:2 ratio for other websites. In a link exchange, I display 2 banners on my site for every 3 banners you display. This is a free banner exchange and is a great way of bringing much more traffic to your site. 200 impression bonus for signing up! I am mostly interested in working with other humor or entertainment sites, but I am open for trying almost any site. Please e-mail me and I will review your site and consider it for the link exchange.

Do you have any comments or questions about anything you see anywhere on pbbt.com? Please feel free to email me at webmaster@pbbt.com.
